The 3 days Rwanda chimpanzee safari takes you to the Nyungwe rainforest is placed in the southwestern Rwanda, at the border with Burundi, south, and Lake Kivu and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west. Nyungwe rainforest is probably the best preserved rainforest in the mountains throughout Central Africa. It is located in the watershed between the basin of the river Congo to the west and the basin of the river Nile to the east. From the east side of the Nyungwe forest comes also one of the branches of the Nile sources. Activities to encounter include the Rwanda chimpanzee tours, Rwanda chimpanzee safaris, Rwanda primate safari, Rwanda primate tours, Rwanda primate adventure!

Day1: Kigali-Nyungwe forest

Have breakfast and thereafter embark the safari vehicle and transfer to Nyungwe forest and on your way to this forest have your lunch en-route, visit to some genocide memorials, then upon your arrival check in at Nyungwe forest lodge/Nyungwe top hill lodge/Gisakura guest house. Meal plan: F/B

Day2: Chimpanzee trekking & Canopy walk

Have breakfast, and after meet at the park offices for the briefing about the primates and the forest, after enter into the tropical rain forest searching for the shy chimpanzees in the tree branches. While on this walk expect to spot other primates like the white and black Columbus, Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys and manageably. More birds can be spotted too in the Nyungwe National park, return to lodge for lunch and then evening take the canopy walk looking for primates, birds and the clear of the green canopy cover. Dinner and overnight as above, meal plan: F/B

Day3: Nyungwe Forest-Kigali

Have breakfast, and after embark the safari vehicle and drive back to Kigali with lunch en-route. Then drive to the airport for your return flight back home. Meal plan: H/B, End of services

Day 1: KIGALI – AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Your driver guide will meet you at your residence; have a safari briefings then drive to Akagera National Park. The park is set at a relatively low altitude on the border with Tanzania and dominated scenically by a labyrinth of swamps and lakes that follow the meandering course of the Akagera River. Upon arrival, check-in Akagera Game lodge. Have lunch and then enter the national park for an afternoon Game viewing.
Overnight: AKAGERA GAME LODGE

Day 2: AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK – GAME DRIVE
After an early breakfast, have game drive in the National park. Akagera is home to a variety of game, it’s an exciting reserve and there are plenty of animals around and the birdlife is quite exceptional. Mammals include a healthy population of Elephant and Buffalo, plus 11 species of antelope including Impala, Common Duiker, Defassa Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Oribi, Tsessebe, Cape Eland and the rare Sable Antelope. Hippos are present in impressive numbers in the lakes and rivers and Zebra and Giraffe still roam the more open acacia dotted plains. Afternoon, have another game drive with an optional boat ride at Lake Ihema.

Day 3: AKAGERA – KIGALI
Have a morning birding and a leisurely breakfast, thereafter enjoy the scenic drive back to Kigali

The 4 days Rwanda gorilla & Lake Bunyonyi tour takes you to the volcanoes national park which habits the mountain endangered gorillas and the experience to enjoy include the Rwanda gorilla tours, Rwanda gorilla safaris, Rwanda gorilla adventure, and Rwanda gorilla trekking! From this park you have the golden monkey tracking and the visit to the Dian Fossey center where Dian Fossey was buried after being killed by the local hunters for the mountain gorillas in the mist! Visit Lake Bunyonyi for holiday vacation for your boat cruise and sun bathing!

Day1: Kigali-Volcanoes National Park

Have breakfast and after transfer to the Ruhengeri region and on your way have the en-route visit to the some of the genocide memorial centre and then have lunch at your lodge Mountain Gorilla View lodge/Laplame Hotel/Kinigi guest house. Then evening visit to the twin Lakes (Burera and Ruhondo) and after return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: H/B

Day2: Rwanda gorilla Trekking-Dian Fossey center

Have breakfast, after transfer to the volcanoes headquarters for briefing about the endangered mountain gorillas and the volcanoes as well, after enter into the tropical rain forest searching for the mountain gorillas and when you meet with the gorillas take the photos, videos and then have your lunch, after return to the park offices for your gorilla trekking certificate. Then in the evening visit the Dian Fossey center and from here experience the conservation effort she did to save these endangered mountain gorillas in the mist and it was due to these gorillas that she lost her life and she was buried in this forest! Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day3: Golden monkey tracking-Lake Bunyonyi

Have breakfast, after go for the early golden monkey tracking and this is done at closer view of the other primates in the park like the red tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys among other. Have lunch and then drive to Lake Bunyonyi via Chanika border Kisoro and upon arrival take the sun bathing at the shoes of the deepest Crater Lake and then have your dinner and overnight at Arcadia lower Cottages Lake Bunyonyi/Bunyonyi overland camp/Jajama safari lodge. Meal plan: F/B

Day4: Lake Bunyonyi-Kigali

Have breakfast and after take a canoeing cruise to the small dotted beautiful islands and after have lunch and back to Kigali to your lodge or airport for your return flight back home. End of services

After breakfast, enjoy Kigali City Tour. Thereafter, enjoy a scenic drive to Gisenyi in the northwester of Rwanda. Gisenyi is a beautiful lake resort town on the shores of the Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is the greatest Lakes in Rwanda and is in the Albertine (western) Rift valley, a part of the Great Rift Valleys. The lake is a 2650 Square kilometer freshwater expanse and the largest of all the lakes that fill the valleys of Rwanda. Spend the afternoon by the Lake shores.

After a champagne leisurely breakfast, enjoy the drive to Musanze where you will enjoy a full Rwandan traditional experience including dancing, archery, traditional healers, food and the taste of Rwanda’s local brew at Iby’ Iwacu Cultural Village. Thereafter return to your hotel for lunch and relaxation while feeling the breeze of Lake Kivu.

Day 4: Hot springs – Fishing

After enjoying your leisurely breakfast, enjoy boat ride (to be booked and paid locally), have a visit to the hot springs and then return to the hotel for lunch and relaxation while enjoying the hotel facilities. In the evening you will have an optional fishing activity in Lake Kivu.

Day 5: Departure

After an early breakfast, drive to the park headquarters for briefings and formalities for the Golden monkeys trekking. The Golden monkeys are rare, beautiful and distinctive bamboo-associated primates of the blue monkey family and Endemic to the Albertine Rift Valley. These adorable apes will keep you marveling in wonder of how they carry out there daily activities, and the way they are closely related to the human beings, they are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees. After Golden monkeys trek, drive back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch proceed to “Iby’ Iwacu” Cultural Village or visit the nearby communities.

Day 4: Volcanoes National – Mountain Gorillas trek

After an early breakfast, again report to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking formalities and briefing on the gorillas’ etiquette. You will be assigned to a specific group of gorillas. Your trek will vary in length depending on which gorilla group you have been assigned to.After locating your assigned Gorilla group, you will spend one hour in their company before retracing your steps back down the volcano slopes. Have lunch at the lodge and then enjoy the scenic transfer back to Kigali.

Day 5: Departure

After breakfast and depending on your flight schedule, do your shopping and souvenirs and then transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Have breakfast, after go for the early golden monkey tracking and this is done at closer view of the other primates in the park like the red tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys among other. Have lunch and then drive to Lake Bunyonyi via Chanika border Kisoro and upon arrival relax at Lake Mutanda Resort. Meal plan: F/B

Day6: Kisoro-Queen Elizabeth National Park

Have breakfast, after embark the safari vehicle and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Ishasha southern sector with the view of the tree climbing lions, after transfer to Mweya peninsula where you will experience your boat cruise along the Kazinga channel and on this cruise expect to spot the wildlife species and birds along the banks of the channel. Transfer to Mweya lodge/jacana lodge/Katara lodge/Bush lodge/Enganzi lodge. Meal plan: F/B

Day7: Game drive-Kyambura gorge walk

Have breakfast and after go the early morning game drive searching for some of the big 5 of Africa which include the lions, buffaloes, elephants, leopards and other wildlife species like the warthogs, antelopes, water and bush bucks, Uganda Kob, topi. This experience takes 3-4 hours and after return to lodge for lunch, thereafter transfers to Kyambura gorge for the chimpanzee walk and other primates like the white and black Columbus, Vervet monkeys, birdlife species. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, meal plan: F/B

Day8: Queen Elizabeth Park& Bigodi walk

Have breakfast, and then embark the safari vehicle and transfer to Kibale forest national park with the fabled view of the mountain of the moon, stop at Mountain of the moon Hotel for lunch, and then in the evening take a nature walk in Magombe swamp searching for the rare shoe bill, sitatunga among others. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day9: Chimpanzee Trekking-Kampala/Entebbe

Have breakfast, and thereafter proceed to the park head offices for the briefing about the primates and the forest as well. Thereafter enter into the rain tropical forest searching for the shy chimpanzees in the branches of the trees, and as you trek these primates spot other primates like the white and black Columbus, Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys and the manageably. After embark the safari vehicle and transfer back to Kampala with lunch en-route and then transfer back to Kampala with the stop at the equator for photos, buys snacks and then drive to the airport for your return flight. Akagera is home to a variety of game, it’s an excitingreserve and there are plenty of animals around and the birdlifeis quite exceptional. Mammals include a healthy populationof Elephant and Buffalo, plus 11 species of antelopeincluding Impala, Common Duiker, Defassa Waterbuck,Bushbuck, Oribi, Tsessebe, Cape Eland and the rare SableAntelope.  Hippos are present in impressive numbers in thelakes and rivers and Zebra and Giraffe still roam the moreopen acacia dotted plains. Afternoon, enjoy a boat ride at Lake Ihema.

Day 4: Akagera National park – Butare

After a leisurely breakfast, have an en-route game viewing as you head to Butare via Kigali (where you will have lunch). Proceed to theNyanza Royal Palace and National Museum respectively and then visit the Butare pottery activity.

Day 5: Butare – Nyungwe

Day 6: NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK- CHIMP TREKKING

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters for trekking formalities then depart for a hike into Nyungwe Forest in search of chimps. There is a lot more in Nyungwe than just chimps. Colobus Monkeys, Mangabeys, various other primate species and lots of forest dwelling birds will be encountered on the way. For those interested in botany, the flora in Nyungwe comes as an added bonus, lunch at the guest house. Afternoon, relax at the guesthouse or visit the nearby areas.

Day 7: NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK – KIBUYE

After breakfast, drive to Kibuye, a beautiful lake resorton the shores of the Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is the greatest Lakes in Rwanda and is in the Albertine (western) Rift valley, a part of the Great Rift Valleys. The lake is a 2650 Square kilometer freshwater expanse and the largest of all the lakes that fill the valleys of Rwanda. Spend the afternoon by the Lake shores

Day 8: KIBUYE – GISENYI

Enjoy the morning boat ride at the lake (to be booked & paid locally) thereafter, drive to Gisenyi another beautiful developed lake resorton the shores of the Lake Kivu.

Day 9: GISENYI – MUSANZE

Spend the morning at the Lake. After lunch, drive to Musanze the main base town for Gorilla tracking. The drive is through beautiful rolling hills on a comfortable paved road enclosed by steep and green terraced hills along eastern Rwanda. The road winds endlessly in a countless number of twists and turns, and the common storm clouds lend a raggedly romantic panorama to this region.

Day 10: VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK – MOUNTAIN GORILLAS

After your morning wake-up call and breakfast, report to the park headquarters, for gorilla trekking formalities and briefing by the Volcanoes National Park’s guides on the gorillas’ etiquette. You will be assigned to a specific group of gorillas. Your trek will vary in length depending on which gorilla group you have been assigned to.After locating your assigned Gorilla group you will spend one hour in their company before retracing your steps back down the volcano slopes. Have lunch at the lodge. Afternoon, enjoy the scenic transfer back to Kigali.

Day 11: DEPARTURE

After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy Kigali city tour including Gisozi genocide memorial site, have lunch and then proceed to the Airport for your outbound.
